CVCC Phlebotomy Fundamentals

Phlebotomy

Students will be trained on the principles of obtaining peripheral and capillary blood samples, specimen collection and processing, communication skills, clerical, safety standards, legal and ethical issues, and professional credentials. Students will complete 60 hours of didactics classroom and hands-on laboratory experience, as well as 100 hours of a clinical internship rotation at a local health care facility.

Admission requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Enrollment in CVCC Adult Diploma Program is acceptable

Prerequisites:

Students MUST successfully complete the following online (self-guided) courses BEFORE enrollment:

 

  • Clinical schedule is TBD following classroom instruction
  • More details regarding specific dates and times will be provided once class starts
