The School of Practical Nursing at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center (CVCC) was established in 1963 as Parma Hospital School of Practical Nursing. The School relocated to CVCC in 2002, where it maintains its rich history of quality and excellence in nursing education. This reputation has been leveraged to form positive and long-time relationships with local healthcare institutions and the community at large.

Based on our consistently high first-time pass rates on the NCLEX-PN (state board exam for licensed practical nurses), the School has continuously maintained a status of full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing and accreditation through the Council on Occupational Education.

When choosing a nursing program, its reputation, approval/accreditation and NCLEX-PN pass rates should be your top considerations. CVCC delivers on all of these factors.

Our experienced instructors provide 1:1 guidance to help prepare students to pass the state board exam and deliver compassionate care.

As a CVCC nursing student, you will complete the requirements of our 1,200-clock-hour practical nursing program in our classrooms, well-appointed nursing resource lab, and at local premiere hospitals and long-term-care centers in our region. You’ll be challenged in this program so that you are successfully prepared for a career in nursing. Our dedicated faculty and staff provide guidance and support to help you excel.

Clinical rotations occur every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM at assigned clinical sites.
