Sports Medicine Exercise Science

Prepare for a career helping people improve their athletic performance, recover from injury and prevent future injuries.

If you are interested in sports, exercise, conditioning, nutrition and fitness, this is for you!

Sports Medicine Exercise Science is a two-year program designed to prepare students to excel in post-secondary education in pursuit of careers such as athletic training, physical therapy, and the many other professions under the expansive exercise science umbrella. This science based program combines lecture, hands-on labs, and scenario based critical thinking activities in our state-of-the-art facility with all of the latest rehabilitation and fitness technology.

Upon completion of the program, students may earn significant college credit at various Ohio universities. Additionally, students have the unique opportunity to spend time alongside professionals as part of their senior unpaid internships, and to earn the National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer credential during their second year.

Suggested Skills for Success: A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and “C” or better in Biology.
